Blessing of the Animals

St. David’s hosts several special worship services beyond our usual Sunday morning worship. Among these is the annual Blessing of the Animals, held on the Sunday closest to Oct. 4, the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi. This is a remembrance of the life of St. Francis, and reminds us that all of God’s creation is blessed, including our pets.

The public is invited to bring their pets to the breezeway between our sanctuary building and parish hall. The event starts at 4:30 p.m. with a brief worship service and concludes with the priest blessing each animal individually. Please have your pets on a leash or in a container.
